Description and benefits
The latest notable improvement in broccoli breeding. Suitable for fresh market and processing. Matures in 64 to 81 days from transplanting, depending on the crop season. The plant has an open growth habit, erect leaves and intense blue-green color. Produces high domed, firm and heavy heads. In early spring production, Ironman F1 is resistant to sterile flowers, hollow stem, “ cat eyes” and bacterial soft rot. Excellent field-holding ability. The recommended planting density is 38,000 plants/ha in spring plantings, 40,000 pl/ha in summer plantings, and 33,000 pl/ha in autumn plantings.
